I turn messy business problems into simple, working systems

Nadia, founder of The Solopreneur Strategist

I've spent over sixteen years in information management, working everywhere from large professional services firms to small businesses and non-profits. I kept seeing the same thing: smart people running their own businesses, overwhelmed with too many spreadsheets or inadequate systems that used to work but had quietly become a source of daily friction. So I started The Solopreneur Strategist — to help fix exactly that, one small project at a time.

Why I started this: I watched too many capable business owners lose time and energy to clunky systems and disjointed processes because they didn't have the time or the technical background to do it themselves.

Credentials: My background includes a Master of Science in Library and Information Science, along with certifications as a Certified Knowledge Manager and Certified Information Professional. Before any of that, I spent time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, which is part of where my pull toward service-driven work, especially with non-profits, first started.

How I work

  • You get a clear written plan before any work begins, no surprises

How I build

Simple tools over shiny ones

Most of what I build stays low-complexity and homegrown, mostly within Google Workspace and its add-ons, with AppSheet for lightweight custom apps. If your business already runs on SharePoint or Smartsheet, I work there too — the goal is building inside what you already have, not asking you to learn a new platform. I don't default to the priciest option just because it's popular. A lot of what gets marketed to small businesses is built for a scale you don't have yet: expensive monthly subscriptions, tools that each do exactly one thing, so you end up paying for five different logins instead of one connected system.

Sometimes the fix isn't a new tool at all — it's a fresh perspective on the workflow you already have, or a solid, repeatable process that's never been written down. Other times it really is a well-built spreadsheet or a Google Form. My focus is finding the simplest, yet efficient, thing that actually solves your problem now — and when you're ready to scale, those other tools will still be there.

I won't pretend I've tried every SaaS tool on the market. Since starting this business in 2019, I've fallen for my share of shiny new tools, and most of them never made it past the free trial. That's the lens I bring to every recommendation.
